Meeting Schedule and Location

Notice:  As of January 2007, FAVAN meetings will be held at the Farmington Senior / Community Center, 321 New Britain Avenue, Unionville. 

We meet once a month, throughout the year (except August), on the last Tuesday of the month at 7 pm, at the Farmington Senior / Community Center, 321 New Britain Avenue, Unionville.  Meetings alternate between informal, open discussions with topics chosen by parents, and planned speakers talking about a specific topic of interest to the group.

We are currently finalizing plans for meetings for the fall, winter, and spring.  We are working with several speakers to work out the details of dates for presentations.  Updates will be published here and in the FAVAN newsletter.

Upcoming FAVAN Meetings

We're still working to line up some additional speakers for this year's meetings. 

The Open Discussion meetings are informal and provide an opportunity to talk about a variety of topics.  Discussions often focus on Special Education, behavioral supports, resources in the community, and family issues.  The discussion is usually driven by whatever happens to be important to those attending on a particular night.  These meetings provide lots of opportunity to network, share experiences, and learn from others.
