Details can be found on the Autism Society of Connecticut Calendar. Thursday, February 2, 2006 - The Spectrum Unplugged - Panel of Teenagers and Young Adults with Asperger's and Related Issues. Sponsored by the Focus Alternative Learning Center in Canton. They will present their perspectives and experiences with time for questions and answers. Winsted, CT. Connecticut Legislative ActivitiesConnecticut is one of only three states not providing services to adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders. The CT-ASRC is actively involved in influencing the passage of legislation to establish a pilot program for services in Connecticut. Other AnnouncementsTheraCare is a home / community based Applied Behavior Analysis program that recently began providing services in Connecticut. Information is available at http://www.asdatoz.com/. The University of Connecticut Health Center Library offers a service called Healthnet for Connecticut residents. Professionals are available to research a topic for you and provide a free packet of information for you. Additionally, the resources of the library are also available to the public. Additional details are avilable at www.favan.org/announcements/Healthnet.pdf Harcourt Assessment, Inc., is developing a new questionnaire that will, when published, give school professionals important information about how a child learns and processes information using sensory data. Harcourt is looking for parents and teachers to complete questionnaires during the development process.
