Upcoming Meetings

Our July meeting will be a picnic this Sunday, July 22 at the McFadden's in Bristol from 1-4.   It's not too late to plan to attend.  Please RSVP to Lee at 860-589-0097.   We're asking families to bring a salad / desert / side dish to share.  We'll provide the rest, including activities for the kids.  We're getting an inflatable 'jump house' to satisfy all those kids on sensory diets!

We're currently planning the 2007-2008 meeting schedule.  If you have any suggestions for speakers or topics, please let us know.  

Announcements

The Northwestern Connecticut Community College (NCCC) And Litchfield County Autism Spectrum Association (LACASA) are presenting a FREE workshop titled IDEA and the IEP-How They Apply to Autism Spectrum Disorders  on Saturday August 4.  Follow the link for details.  

Conferences

The Asperger's Association of New England is host a conference titled Asperger Syndrome Connections 2007 on September 28 & 29, 2007 in Boston, MA.  Featured speakers include Tony Attwood and Carol Gray.

The CT-ASRC will hold their annual Resource Fair on November 3 at Southern Connecticut State University.

The CT-ASRC will hold a conference "Inclusion for Kids with ASD" presented by Ruth Eren PHD and Barbara Cook MS-SLP at Southern Connecticut State University.  A session will be held on November 10 for school personnel and December 1 for parents.  Contact CT-ASRC for additional information.

The Learning Disabilities Association of Connecticut is conducting a Parent Assistor Training course covering a variety of topics related to special education.   The series begins on September 13.  Contact the Association at 860-560-1711 for more details.
